Virtual Console

Hmmm...
To do:
  • Some/all Nintendo-made VCs have multi-rom menus (source: unknown)
  • Look for unused text/features in:
    • Game Boy
    • Game Boy Color
    • Game Boy Advance [has unused save types (source: unknown)]
    • Game Gear
    • NES
    • SNES (New Nintendo 3DS only)
    • TurboGrafx-16/PC Engine (Japan only)
    • 3D Classics

Version Number

The .code file (sometimes?) contains a version number. It is displayed on the bottom of the debug menu.

Console Game Region Revision Text
GB Pokémon Red Version World 1
version 2.058

Build Date

Some Virtual Console titles have a file called buildtime.txt in the root of their RomFS, which contains a build date. The hex values are put in square brackets if it isn't known how to interpret them as text.

Revisional Differences

Hmmm...
To do:
original vs revision 1 of titles + earlier vs later vc games

Unannounced Titles on idbe Server

The Nintendo 3DS icon database server contains (or contained) info on several titles that are not released. There are overlaps with the list of Super Nintendo titles above. Even if the title is on the CDN (Content Download Network), because it is unreleased the title key to decrypt and therefore make it usable won't be available.

Planet Crashers exists as a digital titles under the following title IDs: 000400000009B500 (USA) and 000400000009C700 (Europe). The icons match the ones used in said titles, ignoring the lossyness of the idbe icons.

This appears to be an early version of the actual game's metadata. Ignition Entertainment has since shut down, which likely explains the change to Renegade Kid as the publisher.
